"Olympian Heights" is an album created and arranged by San Diego beat-smith, Devin McGuire, AKA "Dayfade". Since 2009, Dayfade has been producing experimental sample-based hip hop in San Diego, CA out of his home studio, Seawind Records. What makes "Olympian Heights" different from his other work is the focus on classic, raw soul and jazz sample loops and chops from 1970s vinyl records. The album pays homage to the original loop diggers and godfathers of hip hop who inspire so many young producers and MCs today. The title was inspired by the first episode of "The Get Down," an American musical drama television series which premiered in August 2016 on Netflix. Inspired by the character Ezekiel's first freestyle, Dayfade worked many late nights on developing the album. "Olympian Heights" is not a place, its a level, a goal, a dream, that you work hard not only to reach, but surpass. Good luck on your journey! No one can work harder on it than you.
