It is nothing... other than Dayfade's 15th "album."
20 tracks of soulful, jazzy, boom-bap hip hop crafted over a year's time.
It's like when you tare a scale back to 0.0, you start over again at the beginning from nothing--back to the basics--a new blank session--a new beat--another loop. This beat-tape strips away the complexity of beat-making and showcases minimal numbers of channels (1-5) for each track.
It refers to the hustle and the grind, repetitive actions we do again and again to get us through the day. For example, coming home from work and staying up till 3 or 4 AM, working in the studio every night, flipping records, and manipulating on Ableton.
Zero.0 is sample-based hip hop filled with intriguing and catchy loops in the classic style of my hip hop predecessors but with a new San Diego vibe. It is peaceful, calming, relaxing, and chill. This album might sound different from the rest of my music because this is a new starting point for me. After being a "living room producer" for 9 years, this is my first professionally mastered album. I spent extra time and effort on these tracks so that you'll find Zero.0 to be more cohesive than the rest of my work, smooth from start to finish.
This will be my first album to be on major music platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, Youtube... etc.
So if you're just now joining me on my musical journey through life, welcome to the beginning.
